GREEN HOUSE EFFECT


BIOEFFECT skin care products are the world's first to contain cellular activators made in plants. Using patent pending biotechnology, the cellular activators, which are natural to human skin, are forged in barley seeds. This green biotechnology ensures the purity and efficacy of the cellular activators inside BIOEFFECT.


WHY IT WORKS

DNA is the genetic alphabet, which all genes are written in. The genes are made of DNA and contain instructions to the cells on how to build proteins. To make EGF in barley, the genetic code for EGF has been translated into the barley genetic dialect. The resulting DNA is a new barley gene that can tell barley how to naturally forge EGF within its seed.


The Green Factory is BIOEFFECT's 2.000 square meter greenhouse on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland. This is where the barley is cultivated, which makes the cellular activators in BIOEFFECT skin care products. The barley is grown in volcanic pumice and watered with pure Icelandic spring water, using renewable geothermal energy for heating and lighting.


EGF (epidermal growth factor) and other cellular activators work as natural signalling molecules between skin cells. The EGF recognises and binds to a specific receptor on the outer surface of skin cells. The receptor in turn delivers a message to the cell nucleus – the 'control centre of the cell – through a complex signalling cascade. In the nucleus, the message is translated into diverse cellular activities, leading to increased production of collagen and elastin within the skin.
